We Are Ready for Kindergarten

Another day full of new experiences!  I was so impressed that every single student remembered to bring their F.I.S.H. to school today!

We had another wonderful morning, getting into the routine.  Our calendar is on our Promethean Activboard.  Each day a name is pulled out of the magic hat and that person is our helper for the day.  Today Jesse's name was pulled out of the hat and he did a great job being our first leader.

We were able to have more time to explore and play in our classroom.  This morning we opened up the block area.

This afternoon we opened up the kitchen area too!

This morning we had a guided discovery with crayons.  Again, this discovery time is available for students to use the materials without an assigned task.  This crayon discovery was sent home in your child's F.I.S.H. today, so check it out!

After exploring the crayons on our own terms, we used them to decorate our first class book, Mrs. Huettl's Class Gets Ready for Kindergarten.  This book is based off of the book, Mrs. Bindergarten Gets Ready to Kindergarten.  We all wrote our names and drew a picture of ourselves getting ready for kindergarten.
We also went to gym and music for the first time today!

Tomorrow we will continue working on our routines and introduce more school tools!

See you in the morning!

Love,
Mrs. Huettl
